Coal Grid on the coal
56067 storms through Brocklesby Junction on 13.08.96 with loaded coal hoppers from Immingham to Drax. Freight traffic along this route at this time could provide coal, steel, iron ore and petroleum traffic workings at least every ten minutes in each direction as well as other workings long gone like Ripple Lane paper vans for newsprint. Still busy today I believe but only if you are interested in 'sheds'. This location has since changed a lot as well with a goods loop running to the left of the station to get freight off the main line quicker.

Where's Brocklesby Junction ?
Looks a great location . Pity it's sheds now, but would still like to have a look .
Just outside Immingham. All freight workings to/from Immingham Docks and steel from Grimsby pass through here 24 hours a day. Think I will get a Freightmaster soon just to see what is still about at certain places.
Just to mention as well that the station is closed. The l/h platform is open to access the signal box only, and r/h platform is privately owned. Shots from the road overbridge are the only available shots but as you can see, its not bad. It was still a manual box in 1996 and that bloke had his work cut out slammin all them leavers round constantly. Sounded like constant gunfire.
Still a busy junction, must have been amazing years ago with better motive power around....
